Ship ahoy!

The renovation and extension of this attic in a private house in the city centre has created three rooftop areas on different levels. As these levels are evocative of a ship, the design plays with that association. The lower level is an intimate cabin-style garden, created with birthwort (Aristolochia), bittersweet (Celastrus) and creeper (Parthenocissus). The next level is the main roof of the building, a flat roof covered with colourful plants. Finally, there is a terrace with views where the floor in Tibetan cherrywood (Prunus serrula) and juneberry (Amelanchier) creates an extraordinary setting.
